It's a good idea to inquire early, as there's usually a wait list.

After seeing your photo, I'll be able to give a good estimate of the time. This depends on how many people are in it, how much of the body is included, alterations and background, as well as my current orders.

 Oil portraits generally take anywhere from 10 to 30 hours of brush to canvas time to properly paint.  It is a 6 to 8 week process from start to finish. 

This medium requires appropriate dry time between layers (1-5 days) and for the final varnish (3 days to 1 week).

 

I want you to know that I hand paint every portrait. I do not use Photoshop or take shortcuts. All artwork is original and handmade. It is an honor to create something so special and sentimental for my clients.  As always, I send a final image for approval before your paining ships.
